Staying at Jaadooghar Chitai Life in Almora was one of the most peaceful and grounding experiences I’ve had. The place has such a calming energy — surrounded by nature, quiet, and creative little corners that make you want to slow down and just be.
The team at Jaadooghar was super helpful and kind throughout — they made everything really smooth, right from check-in to helping us explore local spots. It genuinely felt like a space built with love and intention. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful break in the mountains.

We spent 3 very pleasant days at Chitai Life, just outside Almora. The house is thoughtfully put together—every corner has its own charm, and you often find yourself wanting to sit down, relax, and take in the surroundings.
Bhagat Singh, the house help, was great—helpful, polite, and made some really nice food.
You can go for walks in the forest area nearby or drive around 30-40 mins to get to cafes or tourist spots.
It takes about 10–11 hours to get there from Delhi, but the roads are good and the drive is smooth.

My family recently stayed at Chitai Place in Almora, the host, Ashish, was very warm and ensured that our stay was comfortable. The highlight was definitely the farm-to-fork fresh and healthy food. The place was impeccably clean, and Chef Bhagat stood out with his patience and talent. He prepared custom fresh food, including smoothies and delicacies from the Kumaon region, all beautifully presented. The hiking in the nearby woods was incredibly rewarding, and I had the pleasure of meeting people who genuinely care and take the time for each other. It was a refreshing and heartwarming experience, and we returned home feeling blessed and rejuvenated after an amazing time in Kumaon with family.
