It’s rare to find a place that’s both historic and one-of-a kind. Jaadooghar Junga (Shimla) is one such gem. Raja Hitendra Sen of the Keonthal princely state of Himachal Pradesh built this property as his ‘Niwas’ almost a century ago. The royal family then later opened its home to select guests offering three of the heritage home’s bedrooms and common areas for occupancy. The Niwas is built opposite to the Chaunri Palace which itself has seen 25 decades. While 250 years may seem like a long time to us, for this royal family, it’s simply contemporary as the family draws its history in Himachal from around the 8th century. This property not only provides you an opportunity to stay in a Raja’s home but also interact with the royals and learn about their rich history.
